No singing experience? No problem! This fun, low-pressure workshop uses easy, team-driven exercises to help you create simple melodies and catchy lyrics on the spot. Musical improv is one of the fastest ways to add emotion and depth to your characters and scenes—and you’ll be amazed at how quickly it clicks. Come ready to laugh, learn, and leave humming your own hilarious creations.

Got a half-baked sketch idea? A weird scene you've been dying to test? Bring it to Piffle Playground at Flipside Theatre!
Drop-in and bring notebooks, laptops, and your wildest ideas. Come for the chaos. Stay for the creativity.
Feel free to bring your lunch. Drinks, popcorn and candy are available for sale at concessions.
This event takes place on the first Sunday of every month. Sketch ideas generated as part of the sketch program may be performed at Flipside Theatre
Leap Into Mask

This three-hour workshop is a playful dive into the world of mask performance, based on the work of Sears Eldredge. It’s about learning to let go of self-consciousness and discovering what happens when you stop trying to perform and start allowing yourself to become the creature behind the mask. We’ll explore the many characters that live inside you, practice juggling awareness between yourself, the mask, and the audience, and learn how to let the image of the mask move through your whole body. Along the way, you’ll start to notice that critical inner voice that wants to keep you safe (and boring) and practice setting it aside so something unexpected can happen. The work is physical, strange, and funny in the best way—it’s about getting out of your own way and seeing what shows up when you do.

Summer sketch show auditions: June 14 - 12pm - 3pm!

Audition to be part of the summer sketch show! The show is planned for July 31, Aug 1 and Aug 2.
Performers will be grouped into cohorts of 4-5 actors. Scripts will be provided. Feel free to arrive early if you would like to warm up with your cohort and review the scripts. They may be scripts you are familiar with.
REHEARSALS - Sundays 7/12 12p-3p, 7/19 12p-3p, 7/26 11a-3p
DRESS REHEARSAL - Thursday 7/30 7pm
PERFORMANCES - Friday 7/31 7pm, Saturday 8/1 7pm, Sunday 8/2 3pm
Additional Details:
The theatre is ADA accessible and has 2 single-person restrooms.
A portion of the profits from the show will be paid out to performers. This payment will be based on ticket sales, so it is in your best interest to promote the show broadly :-)
