Next Level Stand Up
Work the Room. Work the Path.
w/ Christie BucheleThis class is for comics who already know how to write jokes—and are ready to expand how they perform and where those jokes can take them.
We’ll focus on two things every working comic needs:
WORKING THE ROOM: Learn how to go beyond written material by developing crowd work, roast jokes, and monologue-style jokes—understanding when to use each, why they work, and how to stay in control while doing it.
WORKING THE PATH: Get practical about comedy opportunities: crafting a strong bio, creating a clean submission tape, and learning how to evaluate festivals, showcases, and next steps without wasting energy.
Each week blends guided practice, performance reps, and clear feedback—so you’re actively expanding your range while sharpening how you present yourself onstage and off.
This is a Level 301 Class. Best suited for comics who’ve completed Intro to Stand-Up OR Level 2 (Craft It, Crush It), or who are performing regularly and ready to think more intentionally about their material, their presence, and their direction.

Get ready to build characters that are bold, grounded, sustainable — and way fun to play. This six-week deep dive explores how to create big characters, genuine characters, physical characters, accented characters, and everything in between.
We’ll play with movement, voice, emotion, monologues, and Chekhov-inspired techniques to help you stretch beyond your defaults while protecting your unique creative instincts. You’ll practice sustaining characters in scenes, passing characters between players, and making strong point-of-view choices that last.
Perfect for improvisers with any prior experience who want to expand their range, sharpen their commitment, and bring unforgettable characters to long-form work.
Culminates in a simplified Harold performance focused on consistent, dynamic character play.
Come ready to experiment, trust your instincts, and leave with tools you’ll use in every long-form set you do.
